What is Manga UP?
Manga UP! is the official digital manga reading application created and run by SQUARE ENIX. We're working towards adding more series for you to enjoy every month! You can read series free of charge using items like "UP," (granted daily) and "XP" (granted during events, as a special bonus, etc.). Available on smartphones and tablets.
What does simulpub mean?
Simulpub (also known as simultaneous publication) means releasing/publishing the latest content alongside their country of origin. This means you get to read the latest chapter of a series soon after it’s released in its original country.
Is Manga UP! an official service?
Manga UP! is the official digital manga reading application by SQUARE ENIX. This application aims to release official translations almost simultaenously to the Japanese releases to prevent piracy. This application's contents are protected under copyright law and the profits are returned to authors in a legitimate way of distribution.
Item
What is "UP"?
UP is an item that is granted twice a day. You can read only normal chapters with it.
What is "XP"?
XP is an item that you get as a reward for participating in events on the app, purchasing "Coin" and so on. You can read all chapters with it.
What is "Coin"?
Coin is a purchase-only item. When buying "Coin," you get "XP" as a bonus.
In what order will the items be consumed?
Items will be consumed in a specific order depending on the type of chapter.
・Normal chapters: UP→XP→Coin
・Advance chapters: XP→Coin
Do purchased Coin expire?
Purchased Coin does not expire.
I purchased Coin, but it is not being updated on my app.
Please try restarting the application. If it doesn't update after restarting, please send a message from Settings > Support.
Where can I see the items I own?
All the items are visible on the top part of the shop page.
Can I use the items on this application on other SQUARE ENIX applications?
As written in Terms of Service, items are only able to be used in this application.
Is there a maximum amount of each item I can hold?
Each item has different limits.
・UP: 1 portion of the daily limit (differs by country)
・XP: 10,000
・Coin: 100,000
What payment options are available?
Coin can only be purchased through the Google Play store or the App store.
Are my payments secure?
Yes! We process your payments through your OS's standard payment method (Google Play Store or App Store). All transactions are carried out securely.
Chapter
What time are chapters released?
Chapters are typically released 12AM JST (Japan time).
What does the label displayed on a series mean?
These labels are used for series updates. An update means a normal chapter and/or new chapter was made available.
・UP (solid blue): The series updated within the last 24 hours.
・UP (clear background): The series updated within the last 7 days.
・NEW: A brand new series that was released within the last 7 days.
・(Only in “My Page”) ●: A solid dot indicates the series was updated since the last time you visited.
I was viewing a chapter but the pages stopped loading. What should I do?
You may be experiencing bad connection. Try restarting the application.
Please be assured that items are not consumed twice when re-reading a chapter if you're unable to view it the first time.
The contents are different from the original (There are illegible parts that are blacked out.)
In the Terms of Service for the platform, graphic depictions are prohibited.
For that reason, there are some depictions that are modified in the application.
Account
Is it possible to transfer (connect) my account's data to other devices?
Yes. First, please sign up from the top part of your library.
If you have already signed up, install the application on the device that you want to transfer/connect.
After that, login with your account information from initial screen, or My Page > Settings > Connected Devices.
I failed to transfer (connect) my account. What should I do?
We'll try to help. Please go to Settings > Support and send us two messages: 1) From your original device and 2) from one you want to transfer to so that we know you're the same person.
I registered for an account but did not receive my confirmation email, what should I do?
Make sure the domain "@account.square-enix.com" is allowed in your mailbox.
Please check your spam mailbox as well.
I did not make an account but my app got reset, can I get my data back?
Sorry, but because we don't have necessary information to identify the account, we can't restore data for a user who hasn't signed up.
Is it possible to connect to my account from different devices?
Yes. After signing up on the device you want to connect, please login with your account information from the initial screen or My Page > Settings > Connected Devices on the device you want to connect.
How many devices can be connected to my profile?
Currently, the limit is 3 devices.
If you connect more than that, your devices will be disconnected from the oldest one to connect.
You can disconnect devices yourself from My Page > Settings > Connected Devices.
Do I need to sign up for an account?
No. However, you cannot transfer/connect accounts if you do not sign up.
Where can I delete my account?
Please send us a message saying that you want to erase all your user data from My Page > Settings > Support.
Is it possible to have multiple accounts?
We ask that you limit one account per person. If you want to use the application with several devices, you can do so in My Page > Settings > Connected Devices.
When I create an account and link the data between the browser and app versions, some of the works I’ve read before don’t indicate the correct reading status. What should I do?
It may take time for the data to be completely transferred, so try reloading both the application and browser pages. If that doesn’t fix the problem, restart the app/browser.

How can I change the notification settings?
To change the settings, go to My Page > Settings > Notifications on the application, or Settings > Notifications on your device.
How can I customize series?
You can customize series with the following three actions.
Hide: Hides the series everywhere on the app.
Stealth: Hides series from your browsing history.
Favorite: Adds series to your favorites list (My Page).
I want to modify my browsing history.
We are afraid you can't modify your browsing history.
However, you may go to My Page > Settings > Customize series and change the series to "Stealth" to always hide it from your history.
I want to clear the cache for the app, how do I do that?
You can clear the cache by tapping My Page > Settings > Clear Cache.
Do you offer telephone support?
We are afraid we don't offer telephone support.

What are the recommended devices for the application?
Recommended devices are below:
